Born in Lille, Pierre Lenoir is a young French countertenor and male soprano with a strong and sensitive voice. His core repertoire is Baroque opera, especially Handel, as well as oratorio, and he has also found a place in classical and contemporary opera. He began in the choir of the Maîtrise des Hauts-de-France, studied at the Paris Conservatoire and, in parallel, musicology at the Sorbonne, then refined his art at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, where he took a master’s degree. In 2023 he won the interpretation, young-talent and audience prizes at the Vivonne international singing competition. In 2024 he received the Young Hope prize from the Fondation de la Vocation Bleustein-Blanchet, and made his debut at Lausanne Opera in the title role of Honegger’s opera The Adventures of King Pausole.

The Israeli Baroque ensemble Barrocada has already performed in Estonia several times, both as a guest of Mustonenfest and on other occasions, with colourful and grand programmes. This time, as a quartet (Shlomit Sivan, violin; Amit Tiefenbrunn, viola da gamba; Eyal Leber, guitar; Yizhar Karshon, harpsichord) and with Andres Mustonen (violin), it presents more intimate works — duets, trios and solo pieces — and makes music with the young French singer Pierre Lenoir.
